What does AirTouch do?
AirTouch turns your Mac's built-in webcam into a full-fledged hand gesture controller. Raise a hand and the cursor follows your index finger; pinch to click, swipe to scroll, make a peace sign to wake the system from sleep. It's a hands-free interface that requires no extra hardware, no wearables, and no dongles — just the camera you already own and macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon.
The app runs as a thin overlay in the menu bar. After a one-time download and open, it stays ready in the background. Ten gestures come pre-programmed: wake, point, click, OK, scroll, swipe, snap, app switcher, Telepath dictation, and zoom. Each works system-wide, so every app — Messages, Chrome, Figma, Spotify, you name it — responds immediately. What sets AirTouch apart is Gesture Studio: you can record any hand pose, hold it for two seconds, and bind it to any shortcut, script, or app. Want a fist bump to start your morning routine? Done. Palm up to pause a video? That too. The Telepath feature is especially neat — touch two fingers to your temple and speak; AirTouch removes filler words and types clean, punctuated sentences into any text field, four times faster than average typing.
AirTouch is built for anyone who wants to keep their hands clean, give a presentation from across the room, or reduce strain from repetitive mouse and keyboard use. Cooks scroll recipes without dirtying a trackpad. Presenters swipe slides while pacing. People with RSI or limited mobility can navigate their Mac without touching it. Everything runs on-device — only 21 skeleton points leave the camera, and they're discarded milliseconds later. No recording, no uploads, no analytics.
