Updown is a straightforward website monitoring service that checks your online services from multiple locations around the world. It supports HTTP(S), TCP(S), and ICMP checks, plus pulse/cron monitoring for periodic tasks. You set the check frequency — from every 15 seconds to once an hour — and Updown alerts you if something goes wrong. It also watches for SSL certificate issues and domain expiration, so you don't get surprised by an expired cert or a lapsed domain.
The service works on a credit system: you buy packs of credits, and each check consumes one credit. Pricing scales linearly, and you can save by buying larger packs. Updown confirms downtime from at least two different locations before sending an alert, which cuts down on false positives. Notifications go out via email, webhook, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Telegram, SMS, Statuspage, or Zapier. You also get hosted status pages — both single-site and multi-site — that show real-time availability and performance data.
