What does Whisperly do?

Whisperly is a Mac menu bar app that turns your voice into clean, paste-ready text. Instead of giving you a raw transcript full of ums and stutters, it listens, strips out the verbal clutter, and drops a polished line wherever your cursor is. You press a hotkey — Option+Space by default — speak at your normal pace, press again, and about a second later the text appears in your email, chat, code editor, or any other text field. It handles three modes: Raw transcription (exact words), Clean-up (fillers removed, punctuation added), and Translate (dictate in one language, paste in another).

The app lives entirely in the menu bar with no window to manage. You set input language before you speak, adjust the output tone (preserve, neutral, casual, or formal), and teach it custom vocabulary like names or industry jargon so it spells them correctly every time. Audio is sent over HTTPS for transcription and immediately discarded — nothing is stored or used for training. The interface is a single panel with all controls visible: mode selector, language picker, tone, word count for the week, and settings for vocabulary, languages, and plan.
