What does MySpec do?
MySpec is a tool that turns rough ideas into structured software specifications. Instead of staring at a blank document, you describe what you want to build — a feature, a flow, or a whole project — and MySpec interviews you like a senior architect would. After a short back-and-forth (typically 5–15 questions), it produces a bundle of four markdown files: constitution.md (project truths and non-negotiables), requirements.md (structured requirements with acceptance criteria), solution.md (architecture and design), and tasks.md (actionable implementation tasks). The goal is to give you and your AI coding agents the context they actually need.
The tool runs on four specialized AI agents — Analyst, Architect, Designer, and Reviewer — that collaborate behind a single chat interface. You can refine the generated spec using natural language commands (they call it "Vibe Specify'ing"), and changes land with a diff. Every requirement includes EARS+ acceptance criteria (WHEN/IF/THE system SHALL clauses) that are testable. Mermaid diagrams render live as you edit the solution file. You can export the whole bundle as a ZIP, copy it to clipboard, or drop it into a .specs/ folder for use with Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex. A CLI sync feature is planned for Q2 2025.
This is best for developers, product managers, and technical founders who want to move from a vague idea to a clear spec before writing any code. It reduces ambiguity, aligns teams, and gives AI coding agents a precise roadmap. The open beta currently offers unlimited AI usage, so you can try it without worrying about limits. If your workflow already involves Cursor or Claude Code, MySpec fits right in as the "spec first" step.
