What does Tychi do?

Tychi Agent Finance is an open-source client stack that gives AI agents their own crypto wallets. Instead of borrowing a human's keys or running on platform custody, an agent can hold money on its own device, spend within rules set by its operator, and sign transactions locally. The tool ships as two packages: an MCP server for agent hosts like Cursor, Claude Desktop, and OpenClaw, and a TypeScript SDK for developers building custom agent apps.

Here's how it works in practice: you install the MCP package, configure a few environment variables, and the agent gets a self-custody wallet locked in an encrypted vault on its machine. Every time the agent wants to move money — send USDC, pay an API, or sign an on-chain identity — it runs through policy gates you define: daily caps, execute-only mode, audit logs. There's no human in the loop for routine transactions, but you control the limits. The private keys never reach the LLM provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) or Tychi's servers; they stay in a local file at ~/.tyi.

Tychi Agent Finance is built for developers and operators who run autonomous agents in production and need them to handle real payments or on-chain interactions without handing over custody. It's especially useful for crypto-native teams building DeFi bots, automated indexers, or agent services that need to pay for API access via the x402 payment gateway. If you're comfortable with npm install and a JSON config file, this tool eliminates the custom wallet glue you'd otherwise have to write.

Key features

What makes it stand out
01
Self-custody wallet stored as an encrypted local vault on the agent's device, never in the LLM or on Tychi servers
02
Policy-gated spending with daily caps, execute vs. read-only modes, and audit trail on every transaction
03
Built-in x402 payment gateway for agents to pay HTTP APIs autonomously within policy limits
04
ERC-8004 on-chain identity registration, so agents can build a portable reputation alongside their wallet
05
Stdio MCP server works with Cursor, Claude Desktop, OpenClaw, Hermes, and other MCP hosts out of the box
