SnapSubtitles is a subtitle generator that runs entirely in your browser. Upload a video (MP4, WebM, or MOV) and it transcribes the audio with word-level timing using AI. You can edit every word, adjust timing down to the millisecond, choose from over 30 caption styles, and export a captioned MP4 or download SRT and VTT subtitle files. Unlike many online tools that upload your entire video to a server, SnapSubtitles processes everything locally. Audio is extracted and sent to a speech-to-text service, but the video frames stay on your machine. The editor lets you split or merge caption cues, preview changes instantly, and switch styles on the fly. Free exports add a small watermark; paid plans remove it and unlock 1080p exports, longer videos, and subtitle file downloads. Full video export requires Chrome or Edge version 120+, but other browsers can still generate captions and download subtitle files.
