Daisy

Daisy is a Mac app that records meetings and dictation entirely on your machine. It captures audio from your microphone and the other side of the call — Zoom, Meet, Telegram, anything that plays audio on your Mac — then transcribes it using the Neural Engine with WhisperKit. The transcripts are saved as Markdown files in a folder you choose (Obsidian vault, iCloud Drive, anywhere). Nothing leaves your computer unless you explicitly send it to Notion, Linear, or a webhook. It also includes a push-to-talk dictation mode: hold a hotkey, speak, and the text appears at your cursor in any app.

What makes Daisy stand out is its local-first, privacy-focused design. It uses on-device diarization (Pyannote-based) to label speakers, and it re-runs diarization offline after the meeting ends for better accuracy. The app ships a built-in MCP server that lets AI clients like Claude Desktop and Cursor query your transcripts directly — no copy-paste, no API tokens, no upload. You can search sessions, rename speakers, and even route transcripts to destinations. The UI is minimal: a small widget with petals that change color to show recording, pausing, or summarizing status.
