soink is a Mac desktop app that turns your voice into text in real time, letting you write, edit, and send messages without touching the keyboard. It's built for people who spend all day typing and want to give their hands a break — especially those with wrist pain, repetitive strain injury, or conditions like TFCC. Unlike traditional dictation tools that record your speech and paste a block of text after you stop, soink streams each word into your active text field the moment you say it. You can dictate into Slack, Gmail, Google Docs, VS Code, Terminal, ChatGPT, Notion, and pretty much any app with a text field.

The app works hands-free after a single tap to start. It cleans up filler words, false starts, and grammar automatically as you speak, so your dictation reads like typed prose. You can edit by voice — say "change Tuesday to Wednesday" and it updates the text without selecting or retyping. When you're done, say "send" and soink presses enter for you, then keeps listening so you can fire off the next message. You can also mix voice and keyboard in the same sentence, typing a bit and talking a bit without switching modes.
