Trace is a browser that automatically indexes every page, document, and conversation you open, building a searchable personal memory. You can find anything you've ever read with a plain English query, chat with your entire history via an AI sidebar, and run multi-step web automations by describing what you want. It also extracts entities into a knowledge graph and offers one-click skills like generating study guides or citations from the current page.

Trace works with your choice of AI provider — Ollama, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or Azure AI Foundry — so there's no lock-in. You add your own API key or run Ollama locally for free. The browser runs three background agents: a Memory Agent that indexes everything, a Knowledge Graph Agent that maps connections between topics, and a Personal Memory Agent that builds a structured profile of you from your browsing and social profiles. A Navigation Agent can fill forms, compare prices, and extract data across sites. The Smart Calendar automatically pulls event details from any page and saves them to a built-in calendar.
