What does KYDE do?
KYDE is a behavioral firewall for AI agents. It sits between your agents and the systems they interact with — APIs, databases, financial systems, SaaS tools — intercepting every request before it executes. Instead of hoping agents behave, KYDE enforces deterministic guardrails: it blocks out-of-scope actions, masks PII by role, and logs everything to a tamper-evident ledger. You deploy it by changing one environment variable, and it works with any provider — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or local models.
What makes KYDE different is its architecture. It sits outside the agent, in the network path, so the agent cannot override or bypass it. Every action is cryptographically signed with Ed25519 and hash-chained — alter one entry and every subsequent link breaks. The audit trail is captured before the request reaches any LLM provider, making it independent and admissible. KYDE also computes a Trust Score for each agent based on its actual behavior, not vendor telemetry, giving insurers and compliance teams a single currency to rate risk across providers.
