What does Port22 do?

Port22 is a mobile companion for AI coding agents. It lets you pair your iPhone with a Mac running Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode, so you can read the live transcript and approve actions from anywhere. Think of it as a remote control for your terminal-based agent — no new account, no extra setup beyond installing a small Mac binary and the iOS app.

The tool works by attaching to an existing agent session in your terminal — it doesn't fork or restart anything. Once paired over iCloud (same Apple ID on both devices), your phone shows every token the agent thinks, edits, and runs in real time. You get a push notification when the agent finishes a task or needs your input, and you can approve or reject actions right from your phone. The connection is LAN-first, with an end-to-end encrypted relay for when you're away from Wi-Fi. Port22 stores zero bytes of your code and has no separate login — it rides your iCloud account.

This is built for developers who already use terminal-based coding agents and want to step away from their desk without losing visibility or control. It's especially useful for long-running agent sessions where you'd rather not sit and watch — you can approve a PR, review a refactor, or unblock an agent from your pocket. The beta is free, and the FAQ hints at a $19.99/year plan for unlimited sessions after launch.
