Copycat Cafe

Copycat Cafe is a language learning app that teaches you to speak by copying real conversations. Instead of grammar drills or vocabulary lists, you watch short exchanges between native speakers, repeat the lines out loud, and then use those same phrases in a low-pressure chat. The app currently offers five complete courses: French, Latin American Spanish, Spain Spanish, Italian, and German. One subscription covers all of them.

The method has three steps. First, you watch a conversation at normal or slow speed while filling in missing words. Then you move to the Copy phase, where you record yourself saying each line. Copycat Cafe's AI scores your pronunciation from 0 to 100 per word, showing which sounds need work. Finally, you enter a Chat phase where you use the phrases you just practiced in a back-and-forth conversation with the app's mascot. The idea is to make mistakes here before you need to speak with a real person.
