LocalMode UI

LocalMode UI is a collection of over 100 copy-owned React components and 36 installable blocks for building browser-native AI interfaces. The components cover chat, knowledge retrieval, vision, audio, photo analysis, agent workflows, and privacy controls. Everything is designed to run on-device using local models, with no server or API key required. Developers can install components via the shadcn registry with a single npx command, making it easy to drop in AI-powered UI elements like message bubbles, slash command palettes, model download progress bars, and transcription cards.

The library stands out for its local-first philosophy. Components like the model compatibility card, downloader, and loading panel handle the full lifecycle of on-device AI — from checking if a model fits on the user's device to downloading and running it in the browser. The blocks gallery takes it further by composing these components into real experiences: a chat block that runs a real model, a RAG chat that streams grounded answers over your own documents, an object detector that labels objects in a photo or webcam feed, a voice notes block that transcribes audio, and an image search that finds photos by description or visual similarity. All of these run entirely in the browser using WebGPU, WebNN, WASM, or CPU threads, depending on what the device supports.

LocalMode UI is aimed at React developers and frontend engineers who want to add AI features to their web apps without relying on cloud APIs.
