What does Vendo do?

Vendo is an open-source customization layer for software products. It drops into an existing app, and from then on customers can reshape that product to fit how they work. Instead of filing a feature request, a user can ask for something like a dashboard of their night-time spending, and Vendo assembles a working micro-app with real data, actions, automations, and memory. In other words, the product's interface starts building itself.

Under the hood, Vendo learns the host product instead of treating it as a blank slate. Running `npx vendo init` scans the codebase to pick up UI components, theme tokens, API endpoints, and permission rules. Those become the boundaries for what the agent can do. It wears your branding, acts under the signed-in customer's permissions, and asks before doing anything destructive. It can appear as an overlay, chat sidebar, or full panel, and the same generated apps can also be opened from Claude or ChatGPT. There's also a scheduling side: automations like "send reminders every Monday at 7" run on their own with the permissions they were given.

The project is Apache-2.0 licensed and has a free tier with $5 of monthly usage, which the page says is roughly 100 agent turns. Paid cloud plans add multiplayer features, publishing to an org registry, governance, session replay, and self-hosting options for enterprises. This is aimed at product teams that want to stop being the bottleneck for every customer request.
