What does Ressearch AI do?
Ressearch AI is a conversational workspace aimed at scientists who are tired of juggling half a dozen tools during a single project. You describe what you need in plain language, and it handles the busywork: searching the literature, pulling data, running Python or R analysis, making visualizations, and helping with editing and scientific writing. The pitch is that the whole research loop happens in one place rather than across PubMed, a notebook, a plotting library, a word processor, and a dozen browser tabs.
What makes it interesting is the underlying setup. The AI agents execute traceable workflows in isolated cloud sandboxes, which means results should be reviewable and reproducible rather than a black box. There's no local environment to configure; you can pick things up from any machine. And it's connected to about 60 scientific sources — PubMed and Europe PMC for literature, arXiv for preprints, AlphaFold and RCSB PDB for structures, UniProt and Ensembl for genomics, ChEMBL for chemistry, ClinicalTrials.gov for trials, plus biodiversity, geospatial, and disease databases. That's a lot of databases behind one chat interface.
The obvious beneficiaries are graduate students, postdocs, and other researchers who want to spend less time on setup and formatting and more on interpreting results. It's also useful for doing a quick literature scan, pulling structured data from bioinformatics sources, or keeping an analysis reproducible for a lab group or collaborators. The page is fairly light on implementation details, so it's hard to say exactly how the agents are orchestrated — but the workflow idea itself is easy to grasp.
