Moderne is a platform that turns your codebase into what they call a 'genome' — a Lossless Semantic Tree (LST) that captures every type, relationship, and structure with compiler-level accuracy. This isn't a probabilistic AI that guesses. Instead, it gives you a deterministic model of your code that humans and automated agents can read, copy, and edit with total confidence. Think of it as a precise map of every repo, ready to be transformed at scale.

The magic happens through three primitives. First, the LST itself: built once per repo and incrementally updated as code changes. Then, there are Recipes — tens of thousands of deterministic transformations that find exact patterns in the LST and rewrite them while preserving every comment and blank line. Finally, the Agent Layer (via Prethink and the Moderne MCP) puts that genome and recipe library into the hands of any coding agent. The agent plans, the recipe edits — no drift, no compounding errors. A single Log4Shell recipe applied across 400 repos fixed 38,000 call-sites with zero regressions.
