Ophiuchi

Ophiuchi is a desktop application that creates a secure SSL proxy for your local development server. It takes a local address like http://localhost:3000 and turns it into a trusted HTTPS address with a custom domain, such as https://my.custom.local. This process, which typically involves manual certificate generation and system configuration, is handled automatically. You get a working, browser-trusted HTTPS environment for development in a few clicks.

The tool works by generating self-signed SSL certificates and immediately adding them to your system's keychain, so your browser recognizes them as trusted. It also manages the underlying Nginx and proxy server configurations. You don't need to edit config files or run command-line scripts. The current version is built for macOS (both Apple Silicon and Intel), with Windows and Linux support planned. The project is open-source, allowing developers to inspect or contribute to the code.
