ClaudeUsageBar is a free macOS menu bar application that helps users track their Claude and Claude Code usage limits. It sits discreetly in your menu bar, providing one-click access to your current usage statistics for both session (5-hour) and weekly (7-day) limits. The app displays exactly how much of your quota you've used and when it will reset, helping you avoid unexpected rate limit interruptions while working with Claude's AI services.

The tool works by using your session cookie from claude.ai to fetch usage data directly from Anthropic's API. All data remains local to your machine—your session cookie and usage information never leave your computer. ClaudeUsageBar is fully open source, lightweight (under 5MB), and built natively for both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. It includes smart notifications that alert you when you approach usage thresholds at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 90% capacity.

ClaudeUsageBar is particularly useful for Claude Pro users and developers who rely heavily on Claude's API services. It helps power users manage their workflow around available capacity, ensuring they never hit unexpected limits during critical work sessions.
