Agorakit

Agorakit is an open source web application that provides a central hub for groups and collectives to organize themselves. It combines several essential tools into one platform: a forum for discussions, a shared calendar for scheduling events, a file manager for storing documents and links, and a map to geolocate groups, people, and events. It’s designed to be a simple, all-in-one online home for collaborative projects, replacing the need to juggle separate mailing lists, cloud storage, and calendar apps.

The tool works by letting you create public, private, or even secret groups, each with its own set of features. A key feature is the customizable email notification system, which allows each member to set how often they receive updates per group, preventing inbox overload. The dashboard gives users a clear overview of unread discussions and upcoming events, and every group calendar offers an iCal feed for syncing with external apps. Since it's open source (AGPL licensed), the code is freely available for others to use and extend.
