What does ARMO do?

ARMO is a security platform built for modern, cloud-native applications. It focuses on protecting applications from the cloud infrastructure all the way down to the code running inside containers. The tool's main job is to spot suspicious activity as it happens, prioritize real security risks from long lists of potential vulnerabilities, and check that your cloud setups follow security best practices and compliance rules. It aims to give security and DevOps teams a unified view of their security posture.

It works by combining several approaches. For runtime threat detection, it uses an eBPF sensor to analyze application behavior for anomalies and can automatically respond. For vulnerability management, it adds context about which vulnerabilities are actually reachable and exploitable in a running system, which helps cut down on irrelevant alerts. It also scans Kubernetes configurations, container images, and cloud infrastructure settings for misconfigurations. A key part of its foundation is Kubescape, a popular open-source Kubernetes security tool that is now a CNCF incubating project.

This tool is built for teams running applications on Kubernetes and in major cloud environments like AWS, Azure, and GCP. Security engineers can use it for continuous monitoring and incident response. DevOps and platform engineers benefit from its integration into their pipelines to catch issues early. Companies with strict compliance needs (like those following NIST or MITRE frameworks) can use it to automate audits and prove their security controls are working.
