Netrinos

Netrinos is a tool that builds a private network overlay on top of the public internet. It gives every device you add—like laptops, phones, and servers—a fixed IP address and DNS name. This creates a virtual Local Area Network (LAN) that spans the globe, allowing your devices to discover and communicate with each other directly, no matter where they are physically located. It's important to note this is not a privacy VPN for hiding your web browsing; it's specifically for connecting your own devices to each other securely.

The system works by establishing direct, peer-to-peer connections between devices using the WireGuard® protocol for encryption. A key advantage is its ability to automatically work through firewalls and NATs without requiring you to manually configure port forwarding. Netrinos uses your device's native operating system firewall (like nftables on Linux or WFP on Windows), which means it relies on trusted, standard components rather than a proprietary stack. It also offers 'Virtual Devices,' a feature that lets you assign a network address to hardware like a NAS or a camera that can't run the Netrinos software itself.

This tool is a great fit for remote teams, IT administrators, and developers who need reliable, secure access to company resources from various locations.
