What does Maritime do?
Maritime is a deployment platform for AI agents. It runs each agent in its own isolated micro-VM, so a company can give every customer a dedicated agent without sharing infrastructure. The pitch is simple: one agent costs $1 per month, and agents sleep when idle and wake in about a second when traffic arrives. You deploy from your terminal, and Maritime handles the servers.
Developers build agents locally with whatever framework they like — OpenClaw, Hermes, CrewAI, LangGraph, or custom code — then push via CLI, SDK, GitHub, or Docker. Maritime detects the framework, builds the VM, and puts the agent live. Each VM has its own kernel, encrypted secrets mounted only into that VM, and lifecycle webhooks so you know when an agent deploys, sleeps, wakes, or fails. Agents are tagged with your external IDs, so your database stays the source of truth. There's no lock-in: you can SSH into any VM, export state, and there are guided migrations from E2B, LangGraph, and other platforms.
The platform is aimed at developers, startups selling agents to customers, and enterprises that want to run agents on-prem. A startup can build one agent, add a few lines of code, and Maritime provisions a copy for every customer who signs up. Enterprises can install Maritime on their own hardware. Real-world use cases include customer-facing support agents, personalized assistants, and any workload that needs one isolated agent per user.
