Repowise is a codebase intelligence tool that indexes a repository's source structure, dependencies, git history, ownership, tests, and engineering decisions into a single reusable model. Instead of making AI agents rediscover the codebase on every task, Repowise gives them compact, architecture-aware context that cuts token usage. It also generates documentation that stays tied to the source, flags change risk before edits, and ranks code health issues like defect risk and maintainability problems.

The tool works by building one shared index from repository evidence. That index powers four practical outcomes: agent context (via CLI and MCP), generated documentation with freshness status, change-risk analysis (blast radius, co-changes, test gaps), and code-health scoring validated against real bug-fix history. Repowise is open source under AGPL-3.0 and can run locally, as a hosted product, or in an enterprise environment. A GitHub PR bot brings codebase context directly into pull requests.
