Claude-devtools

Claude-devtools is a desktop application that gives developers visibility into what happens during their Claude Code sessions. It reads the session logs already stored on your machine (in ~/.claude/) and presents the detailed information that Claude's terminal interface hides. Instead of seeing only opaque summaries, you get to see every file path, tool call, token usage, and the reasoning steps Claude took before each action.

The tool works by parsing the existing log files without modifying or wrapping Claude Code itself. It reconstructs the complete context window breakdown across seven categories, shows syntax-highlighted Read and Edit calls with inline diffs, displays per-agent execution trees with token metrics, and opens Claude's project memory files with in-app search. You can inspect sessions on remote machines over SSH, set up notification triggers for specific events, and use a command palette to search across all your sessions.

This is particularly useful for developers who need to debug why Claude made specific coding decisions, understand token usage patterns, or analyze the coordination between subagents. It works with every session you've ever run, from any tool, and is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux as a native desktop application or via Docker for self-hosting.
