What does Arnismc do?
Arnis is a free, open-source desktop application that transforms real-world geographical data into playable Minecraft worlds for both Java and Bedrock Editions. You pick any spot on Earth using an interactive map, select your area, and Arnis generates the terrain, streets, buildings, and landmarks as they appear in reality. No manual building, no mods—just a few clicks and your hometown, a famous skyline, or a natural wonder becomes a blocky landscape you can explore in Minecraft.
How does it work? First you choose your area with the rectangle selection tool. Arnis pulls data from OpenStreetMap and AWS Terrain Tiles to recreate roads, building footprints, and elevation. It then renders everything inside a new or existing Minecraft world. The tool handles both Java (1.17+) and Bedrock Editions, and it runs on Windows, Linux, and macOS. A newer online version called MapSmith lets you generate worlds in your browser if you'd rather not install anything, though that service is paid. The desktop app itself is completely free.
This tool is a dream for Minecraft players who want to explore real places in-game, educators looking to make geography lessons more interactive, and builders who need accurate base maps for large projects. Whether you're recreating your childhood neighborhood, planning a BuildTheEarth-style megaproject, or just curious what Paris looks like in cubic form, Arnis delivers fast, surprisingly detailed results. It's simple enough for casual use, but powerful enough for serious world-building.
