Mixar

Mixar is a 3D editor built directly on Blender, but rebuilt around AI. It runs natively on Mac and Windows and is free to download. The core idea is simple: you direct the creative work, and AI agents handle the repetitive grunt work in the background.

The editor introduces background agents called Mixie that can unwrap, bake, retopologize, or generate assets while you keep moving. These agents run non-blocking, so you stay in the flow. Mixar also includes per-task workspaces — a texturing room with stencil painting and layer-based PBR effects, a UV room with live island packing, and a modeling room with retopo overlays. A moodboard lives inside the canvas, letting you generate references and prompt scene changes without leaving the editor.

Mixar is open source — the code is on GitHub for anyone to inspect, run, or build on. You bring your own API key (OpenRouter, Codex subscription, or another provider) and pay per use. The tool is designed for indie game studios, technical artists, concept and environment artists, character artists, solo creators, and teams in architecture, interiors, event design, and real estate concepting.
